We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who is comfortable working both individually and
collaboratively on the revenue side of federal grants. You're not afraid to ask questions and you have a knack for detail.
You’ve worked in accrual accounting for at least three years and have at least a year of grant accounting experience. You are good at using contracts to recognize revenue and have used ASC 606.
You are looking for a growing organization that favors promoting from within. The idea of giving back and working for a philanthropic organization feels good and you like the idea of working in towards a promotion.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA Accounting
- At least three years of accounting experience
- Excellent month-end close skills
- Experience using contracts to determine allowable costs and to calculate revenue
- Excellent communication skills
- Integrity and passion for your work

We seek a candidate currently leading the finance, accounting and planning function of a company with revenue in the $200M range. In addition to your tremendous skills in accounting, finance and planning you are a skilled leader who manages with the goal of elevating the team. We value collaborative communication and demand respectful treatment all employees under our collective umbrella.
Our client wishes to revamp and upgrade their systems and seeks a candidate with a background in system selection and implementation. You regularly present information to a board of directors and an audit committee and are well-versed in government regulatory requirements for contractors.
You have established relationships with bankers and are well-versed in contracts and debt covenants.
You like to work with teams to on project management but understand that outside experts are needed.
Finally, you are naturally inquisitive and often think outside the lines. You embrace calculated risk and are known as a creative problem solver whose first instinct is to think, "how can we make this happen," rather than "we can't do this."
REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently in a role with full fiscal responsibility for multi-entity corporation of at least $200M, typically a CFO.
- Fluency with revenue recognition relating to multiyear contracts
- Experience developing multi-level incentive based compensation models
- Experience managing robust financial planning and analysis function
- Experience with needs analysis, system selection and implementation process

ArcherStanley Group, LLC has been engaged by a $900M company in Bethesda, MD in the search for a Corporate Accounting Manager. You will manage a team of four and report directly to the Controller. Your team is responsible revenue recognition. intercompany accounting, preparing the consolidated financials, and analysis, just to name a few tasks. Your manager is from public accounting and understands that a shift in thinking is needed to move from being a great auditor to a great Accounting Manager.
This role is interactive and there is a great deal of contact with other managers and directors throughout the company. You'll have opportunities to sit in C suite meetings and to interact with the auditors and other external consultants at the highest level. You can expect to be treated with a great deal of respect and the company welcomes this new addition to the team.
DESCRIPTION:
- Direct and manage month, quarter, and year-end close process for company, including reviewing work of staff
- Supervise post-financial statement process such as reconciling GL accounts
- Work closely with financial reporting team, and help prepare MD&A for unusual transactions
- Prepare variance analysis reports
- Liaise with sales team to ensure all new contracts are accounted for
- Aid internal and external auditors with requests and inquiries
- Maintain awareness of technical accounting issues affecting company
